To start off with, I usually use Napa TCI John Deere paint with a hardner. Always worked well for me. Well, I was given a gallon of John Deere paint from John Deere. I went and bought the John Deere thinner, but they don't have hardner and the instructions don't say anything about a hardner on the can. The guys at JD are clueless with the paint.I had atleast a quart of thined and mixed paint left over. Don't mix all of your paint at one time. The hardner will start to set it up and you will end up waisting what you haven't used. I would mix 2 quarts and see how far you go and that will give you a good measure.
