I like sword far more than any other weapon but splitstaff imo is the best for yokai. Odachi is the best against humans. Kusa and axe are also great against yokais. And i agree with the odachi. Then you might have an axe, fist weapons, or tonfas or such if you wanted a weapon to break through blocking humans easier.
